Summer Jobs

Counselors and staff have a tremendous influence on a camper’s experience. Staff members are carefully selected from churches throughout the Delaware-Maryland and Metropolitan D.C. Synods, as well as from colleges and universities across the United States- many upon recommendations from pastors and youth leaders.

Each staff person goes through a detailed interview/hiring process (including fingerprinting and criminal background checks) and all are required to attend the intensive 11-day orientation in order to ensure a safe and fun experience for all of our campers. All staff members review safety regulations during their training programs and many receive certification in CPR/First Aid.

Parent comments have included, “The staff was very attentive and genuinely interested in the kids,” and “Camp staffers were enthusiastic and great role models.”

A registered nurse, who is on duty 24 hours a day, will greet parents and campers upon arrival, and will return medications, etc. on departure day.

“Pastors of the Week” will also be in attendance throughout the summer to assist with the curriculum, facilitate small and large group discussions, lead closing worship, and provide other guidance and leadership.
