Camp Descriptions
Junior & Junior High Camps
Come for a regular Mar-Lu-Ridge week at camp! Every Junior and Jr. High week is different from each other-predetermined living accommodations, themes, special activities, etc. All Junior and Jr. High programs include: worship, Bible study, hiking, swimming, campfires, arts and crafts, cookouts, singing, new friends, and tons of games. Junior campers will also have the opportunity to participate in launching bottle rockets, and enjoying other age-based activities. Jr. High campers will tackle some new challenges through archery, night hikes, camping out, rock climbing or high ropes, and many more unique outdoor activities.
Mini Camp
This program is an excellent opportunity to get a taste of overnight camp experience. Mini Camp is 3 nights and 9 meals (Sunday-Wednesday) with a sample of some of MLR's great camp activities-swimming, games, arts and crafts, hiking and singing, etc. It is a wonderful short week experience for campers ages 6-10.
Day Camp
Day-long programs for those who have completed kindergarten through 5th grade. Spend the day playing games, singing, hiking, swimming, participating in Bible study, and having a campfire. Arrive as early as 7 a.m. and stay till 6 p.m.(Call ahead with arrival times). Program runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday at Area 3, with registration on Monday starting at 7:00 a.m. A hot lunch and an afternoon snack are provided. Sign up for as many days as you wish ($35/Day or $150 FOR ALL FIVE DAYS).
Mid-Drift Camp
A chance for friends ages 9-12 to spend a week at camp together. Experience worship, Bible studies, archery, hiking, swimming, campfires, arts and crafts, cookouts, singing, new friends, and lots of games. This program is for kids of junior and jr. high ages to enjoy camp together in the same program.
Adult Camp
Enjoy a week of fellowship, crafts, Bible Study, evening programs, an off-site excursion. Relax with a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise, campfire, indoor and outdoor games, and cross-generational sharing. Accommodations will be in the Ridge Inn-our high-comfort motel-style facility, that has individual air-conditioning units in each room. The only requirement is that you must be at least 55 years of age. It's a great time! Download the brochure for more information.
Senior High Camp
Get connected, strengthen your faith, explore and rejuvenate. Sr. High week has it all-including late night games, high ropes/rock climbing, great fellowship, talent show, and smart group discussions about the issues that face Sr. High youth today. Lots of other special events are in the works. Experience a different type of camp and have a great week at Mar-Lu Ridge!
Staff-In-Training (SIT) Program
This program is for those who desire to develop or learn quality leadership and group dynamics skills or who want to become camp staff. Participants will develop skills, awareness, and experience required to be a high quality, safety-conscious staff member-experience extensive training for two weeks, then learn what it takes to serve at different areas of camp; practice your counselor skills with our summer staff; become a certified Lifeguard. Application deadline is May 1st! An interview is part of the process. Campers must be 17 or older as of July 5, 2009. (Please fill out and send us the regular Mar-Lu Ridge Summer Camp Registration Form and you will receive a SIT application packet in the mail following that.)
Servants Of Christ (SOC)
This two-week program will focus on service in local communities. Spend the first week at camp building your group and enjoying regular Mar-Lu Ridge activities. During the second week you'll take trips to local soup kitchens, Habitat for Humanity sites, homeless shelters and/or other sites to provide much-needed help and service in the community. Also enjoy special activities over the weekend.
