Information for Scouts
Scout troops, Packs, and Crews are welcome year-round. We pledge to provide safe, clean facilities for Scout youth and adults, following American Camp Association guidelines.
Pricing:
April, May, October, November: the fee is $10/ per night per person for tenting, Lodge 3, and cabins.
January – March, June – Sept, December: $8/per night per person for tenting, Lodge 3, and cabins.
Facilities:
– Lodge 3 minimum: A two night, 15 person minimum is required to reserve Lodge 3. If you do not have that number when the time of your gathering arrives, you must still pay for 15 people for 2 nights.
- $300 in peak months, April, May, Oct, Nov
- $240 Jan – March, June – Sept, December
– Smaller groups of up to 14 people will be directed to the Cabin area. One or two night options available.
– Cabins and Lodge 3 have bunks, HVAC, electricity & bathrooms with showers
– Lodge 3 offers indoor camping with full kitchen, 24 bunks and 4 bathrooms
– For Cub Scout family camping & tenting with a warm dry roof/safety net, the Lodge 3 and Main Camp cabin areas are ideal for happy beginner experiences
– Junior Pond offers camping in a secluded, “miniature Scout Camp” setting:
- Dock with 2 canoes. Scouts bring all paddles, PFDs in appropriate sizes, and qualified instructor. Water level dependent on time of year.
- Two picnic tables, potable water at Lodge 3. Access area by 4WD.
– Dining Hall meal service available for extra fee: $6 Breakfast, $8 Lunch, $11 Dinner.
– All sites offer tailgate unloading/loading, campfire ring and firewood
Activities:
– 15 miles of on-site trails including views of the valley, easy to strenuous terrain, abundant wildlife and geology, pond and massive trees
– Mar-Lu-Ridge’s certified staff can provide affordable Rock Climbing, High Ropes & Zip Line, Group Challenge Courses & Teambuilding Activities for an extra fee
– Nearby attractions include: C & O Canal (milepost 51), Appalachian Trail, Harpers Ferry (whitewater, history), Antietam Battlefield & Frederick.
– For whitewater or horseback excursions, MLR can connect your Pack, Troop or Crew with our trusted local whitewater outfitter and equestrian facility
