Support Our Ministry

Mar-Lu-Ridge is a 501c3 non-profit ministry, which means your gifts make all the difference in helping us meet our yearly budget and fund extra projects.  When you give a monetary gift to Mar-Lu-Ridge, you can specify where you’d like to direct your donation or have it remain unspecified to be used for general support. We are also always looking for new and gently used items to support summer camp programing and continue providing excellent hospitality for our year-round retreat guests.

Do you have gently-used items you think might benefit Mar-Lu-Ridge? Check out our gently-used item wish list. If you don’t see your item, contact the camp office. (301-874-5544)

We use your monetary donations in the following ways:

Camperships

These gifts allow us to bring all youth to summer camp no matter their financial circumstances.  We never turn a camper away.

Facilities

These gifts allow us to maintain and improve our facilities year-round.  We are constantly renovating restrooms, replacing carpeting and old paneling, and upgrading our water systems.

Agape Hall & Reservoir

In the past 8 years, we have completed major renovations to our main dining hall, now Agape Hall, and completely rebuilt our main reservoir.  The cost of these projects was off-set by your donations, but it was still necessary to secure loans from the Mission Investment Fund.  Our monthly payment on these projects is $2,367.00.

Building Block Society

This “Building Block Society” serves to honor people who have included Mar-Lu-Ridge in their estate plans. These gifts help provide for the current needs of MLR as well as the future by becoming part of our endowment fund.  Our ELCA Regional Gift  Planner is available to speak with interested parties. Please contact the Mar-Lu-Ridge Executive Director, 800.238-9974 or mlr@mar-lu-ridge.org for more information.

You may also choose to support us through other organizations, including Gifts of Hope (Metro DC Synod) and Thrivent. Please visit their websites for more information.
